Dear Amazing Reader,

Trust you had a restful weekend. October does seem to be racing by, right? We trust God to perfect all He’s started in our lives in Jesus name.

We’re still speaking to the word of God being the more sure word of prophecy. Our last post ended with a poser, asking about what scriptures we are warring with. I heard a message a while back, where these were referred to as Word stones. So, what are your Word stones?

Think of this as the stones in the hands of David, which he carefully selected for the purpose of bringing down Goliath. 1 Sam 17: 40 states, “Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.

Note that he immediately followed up that action by speaking the word against Goliath. That’s a lesson- it’s not enough to identify the scriptures that address your situation, but you must keep speaking against your ‘Goliath’ until it’s eventually brought down. We also see this play out in David’s encounter with Goliath, captured in verses 45-49. “David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

In summary, to overcome your ‘Goliath,’ carefully select your word stones, guard them in your heart, keep speaking out against your ‘Goliath,’ consistently launch your word armory over and over until your Goliath is destroyed.

Congratulations already!
