Hello Amazing Reader,
Guess what? It’s an interview edition today and there’s something in it for you. Shall we?
From what can be likened to a shrub Blackberry group called Women of Worship, which consisted of a number of young, married, purpose-driven ladies trusting God to live their best lives, has grown a tree; a blooming one at that. This tree, though still growing provides nourishment, protection and succor to all of those that have come her way. Here’s introducing Mrs Tolulope Tunde Ajiboye (fondly known as TTA), the visioner of the Blooming Amazons Ministry (BLAM).
1NEBODY: We are so honored to have you grace this edition. Could we begin with a brief about BLAM?
TTA: Thank you for having me. Blooming Amazons Ministry (BLAM) is a faith based, non-profit that is focused on supporting women to discover and live in the reality of being all that God has called them to be. We host conferences and seminars for young women particularly between the ages of 22 and 40 for the purpose of knowledge, impartation and spiritual nourishment. We provide a platform that challenges our target group to live up to their full potentials as designed by God, as well as transform their immediate societies and the world at large.
1NEBODY: Sounds interesting. What sort of issues are discussed at these meetings?
TTA: Remember it’s faith-based? So, that’s one of the things we talk about. We also discuss practical issues that might not be talked about in a typical religious setting.Again, we are big on mentoring. From time to time, we bring in older and thriving women, so we could listen to their stories, how they have attained their successes and relevance in their respective fields. A strong network is fostered from these conferences and we constantly remind the ladies that there is enough room for everyone because competition and rivalry is baseless.
1NEBODY: That’s such a crucial point to emphasize,isn’t it?
TTA: Absolutely. We remind ourselves that with collaboration, much more can be achieved.
1NEBODY: Do you mind if we back up a bit, at what point was this vision delivered?
TTA: The vision was formally birth at the very first conference which was June 2018. But, prior to that, I attended a Women in Business (WIMBIZ) conference in 2003. I was in my second year at the time and I was undergoing my industrial attachment. A corps member in my office mentioned she was attending the meeting as there was a discount for corps members. As soon as she told me about it, I knew that was a meeting not to miss. I remember sitting at that meeting and God kept saying to me, “I am sending you to the women in your generation. I will put a word in your heart and a message on your lips, if you would trust and follow me, I will use you.”
1NEBODY: Wow, it must have been a life-changing meeting for you.
TTA: You can say that again. It was also a season of answered prayers because for as long as I can remember, I had been asking God to use me. Something else God said to me was, “you have a heart for service and I can trust you with my flock.” I was not fully sure of what God meant at the time but I kept getting promptings in this direction. In all of the local assemblies where I have worshipped since my spinsterhood, I have served in the women’s ministries. Fast forward to 2012, I formed a BlackBerry group called WoW-Women of worship. It consisted of young, married , purpose-driven ladies like myself, trusting God to live their best lives. On that group, we celebrated, cared for each other and just rendered support and biblical encouragement to one another.
1NEBODY: All of these were to equip you for the bigger assignment?
TTA: Yes, but I didn’t stop there. In 2016, I started to feel strongly that the time was close and by divine instruction, I was led to go look for Rhema Bible Training Center because zeal, calling or passion without preparation is not a blessing but a curse.
1NEBODY: That’s deep! So, are you saying it’s not enough to have a calling and just jump right in? After all, God already said. Shouldn’t all else fall into place?
TTA: Lol, I wish it were that easy but the truth is, there must be adequate preparation as well. I spent two years at bible school where I believe I learnt a lot about dying to self and trusting God COMPLETELY. Someone once asked me, must I attend bible school to start out on what God has called me to do? The answer I gave was- it’s not a must, but asides that I was led to in my case, I also believe it’s a great move. Preparation time is never wasted time. In preparation, our roots grow downwards so that when we start to sprout , we can bloom upwards. The preparation phase develops our heart. After a thorough preparation phase, we had our debut conference in June 2018 and it was so glorious. I can say like Esther that I was born for a time such as this. Since then, we have been following the Lord’s leading keenly, and so many have found themselves by attending our conferences. With all sense of humility , I would like to say for this purpose , I was born…
Watch out for part 2!
