For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.  As the heavens are higher than the earth,  so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’ (Isaiah 55:8-9, New International Version)

If we could easily explain God’s ways, He won’t be any different from man.

In His wisdom, God prepares a place before preparing the vessel. Let’s see Biblical examples. Joseph had been ordained by God as a ruler. Right from a tender age, God had revealed this to him but before he eventually ascended the throne (his prepared place); he went through a number of unpalatable experiences. He was thrown into the pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, lied against by Potiphar’s wife, served an undeserved jail term, was forgotten by those he helped; none of these made any sense in comparison to what God had promised, yet he didn’t give up. As unlikely as it seemed, the unpalatable events were God’s way of preparing him for the throne and when his time came, everything fell into place. In fact, no one could match up to him in the entirety of Egypt; Genesis 41:37-44

How about David? The seemingly forgotten shepherd boy. He always got to do the ‘behind the scene’ jobs. Caring for the sheep, fighting predators (the lion and bear), taking food to his buff brothers who were fighting against the philistines. He seemed so insignificant in his father’s house that when Jesse presented his sons to Samuel, David wasn’t deemed fit for presentation. Can you imagine? Not even his father thought him a suitable candidate but God knew he was the prepared candidate for the throne. All that he had been through were the requisite preparatory process before he could ascend his throne; 1 Samuel 16,17.

Dear Reader, be rest assured that God has a prepared place for you but He must also prepare you so you won’t be a misfit for your throne. Those unpleasant situations may not make sense to you right now but, it just might be your preparatory process. Also, God doesn’t operate a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach; your preparatory process might be bespoke, unique to you. This is not to say, some challenges are not orchestrated by the devil, you must be sensitive to know when you’re being molded by God.

Prayer: Dear Father, prepare me for the place you have prepared for me in Jesus name.

God’s blessings always,
Dammy
